There is a question nobody asks in leadership articles.

Not how to lead. Not what a leader says or does.

But who are you when no one is watching?

Not when you are alone. When you are with someone — but in a position of power, and invisible to the rest of the world.

Do you respond to the prospect who reached out, even when saying no costs you nothing and gives you nothing? Do you treat the person across from you with the same respect you would give in front of an audience?

That, to me, is leadership.

I spent nearly 20 years as a buyer. I received thousands of calls, hundreds of emails from vendors and sales representatives. I know what it feels like to be on the other end — because I also spent one year in sales. One year. I swore I would never do it again.

Not because selling is shameful. But because I watched how some people treated those who reached out to them.

And I decided, very early on: I would always respond. Even to say no. Even when it served me nothing. Even when no one would ever know.

Because that is the mirror.

Leadership starts with self-leadership. And one of the most honest tools I have found for developing it — truly, deeply — is tarot.

Not because it predicts the future.

Because it does not lie.

When you ask tarot a question about someone else, about a situation outside of you — and the cards turn the answer back toward you — there is nowhere to hide.

The cards show you your behaviors, your patterns, your blind spots. They illuminate what you already know but are not ready to face.

That is not comfortable.

But it is exactly where real development begins.

Leadership is not a performance. It is not a title, a posture, or a set of techniques learned in a seminar.

It is who you are in the moments that go unseen.

Tarot is one of the few tools I know that holds up a mirror to exactly that.

If you want to develop your leadership — and you have the courage to look at what the mirror reflects — book a private session.
